A Simple Edge Every Investor Can Use

Most people believe investing is only for experts people who dissect balance sheets or analyze charts for hours. But you don’t need to be a financial professional to have an edge. Sometimes the strongest advantage comes from something as simple as paying attention.

One of the most powerful tools available to everyday investors is this:

Public officials must report their trades.

Members of Congress. Cabinet leaders. Even presidents.

These disclosures are public, and they can signal where money and attention may be shifting before the broader market catches on.

Recently, Morningstar reported that Donald Trump purchased at least $82 million in bonds since late August. When someone with that level of influence makes a move, it’s worth knowing.

And here’s why awareness matters:

Since the release of this information in mid-November, two major names connected to the headlines and political conversation have moved sharply:

  • Boeing is up 14% in just the last few days.

  • Intel has surged 25%.

These aren’t small moves and everyday investors who were paying attention could have benefited simply by connecting the dots early.

This isn’t about being cynical. It’s about being informed.

Markets don’t move only on earnings or valuation metrics. They move on influence, headlines, policy shifts, and the actions of people with power. When you understand that, you stop reacting to the market and start anticipating it.

And you don’t need Wall Street access to do that.

My wife sent me the Boeing headline from Instagram proof that real investing now lives in the spaces we already spend time in. Articles, social posts, podcasts, conversations… they can all become part of your financial toolkit.

This is why I run my practice as a partnership.

I encourage clients to share what they’re seeing and hearing.

I take your observations and layer them with analysis, strategy, and risk management.

Investing isn’t about perfection. It’s about attention. It’s about awareness. And it’s about using the information available to you to build real, lasting wealth.

Everyday investors can absolutely have an edge when they know where to look.
